April 18, 2011. I'm reading The Daily Coyote be Shreve Stockton. She is a city girl in her 20s from NYC. She traveled on her moped to California to see a friend and drove all the way back to New York on it. She came across Wyoming and fell in love. When she got home, she packed up everything and rented a house in the middle of no where. She has made some new friends with the few people in town. She has to drive 10 miles to get groceries and items she needs. She feels very embarrassed to be a city girl in a place like this. She's learning how to do outdoor things like bailing hay, tending livestock, and living alone.
April 1, 2011. I've just found a new book called The Daily Coyote by Shreve Stockton. In my next blog, I will write about what is happening in the beginning.
February 10, 2011. I still haven't got ahold of my independent reading book yet. I finished reading Of Mice and Men and thought the story ended strangely. The ending with the two pages of Lennie hallucinating about his Aunt Klara and the rabbit talking to him. I'm glad that George got to comfort him about happy thoughts before he had to pull the trigger. George wanted to do it because he couldn't stand there and watch Curley or another man shoot his best friend. The way the author ended it though just kind of stopped in the middle of no where. Over all, I think this this a good read and hope to have my independent reading book next blog.

I haven't found an independent reading book yet. Of Mice & Men has the main characters George and Lennie. Lennie is mentally retarded and is traveling in search for jobs with George. George is responsible for taking care of Lennie because his Aunt died. They are now working at a ranch with other men they are getting to know. George doesn't like Lennie to speak because he doesn't want people to find out he's special. Lennie is a big guy and very strong. The boss's son, Curley, has a wife that is flirty and Curely thinks he's real tough. Curley ends up starting a fight with Lennie and george told him to fight back. He breaks Curley's hand. I think they will continue having issues and someone will find out about Lennie's problem.
